About Bruno Nascimento
I’ve been around startups most of my adult life — as a founder, as an early employee, and as a leader helping scale them. I co-founded two startups (Parqly and Barba Brada) before joining the tech industry as an engineering leader, and since then I’ve worked across the full spectrum: from scrappy early-stage environments to companies navigating rapid growth and Series A+ complexity.
My career has spanned software engineering, engineering management, and product management — at companies like Onfido, Remote, and bunch. That breadth means I’ve seen how the same challenges (prioritisation, team building, technical decisions, founder-team dynamics) look very different depending on the stage you’re at.
I’m particularly drawn to the messy, ambiguous early stages — where you’re still figuring out what you’re building and for whom — as well as the growing pains that come once you’ve found some traction and need to scale without breaking things.
I can help you with
• Idea validation and early product thinking
• Building your first team and navigating co-founder dynamics
• The transition from “founder doing everything” to leading a growing organisation
• Technical decisions at early and growth stages (build vs. buy, architecture, hiring engineers)
• Navigating the emotional and leadership challenges of being a founder
I’m a good fit if you’re
• Pre-seed or seed stage and trying to find your footing
• Post-Series A and feeling the growing pains of scaling a team and product
• A non-traditional founder who didn’t come up through a conventional path
Why I mentor
I have always enjoyed sharing the knowledge I have acquired. After my experience as a guest professor at NOVA IMS, I would like to continue to share this knowledge with anyone who is ready to receive and apply it.
