  1. Scope

 This privacy notice is applicable to the processing of personal data of users of the NOVA Innovation website, of the NOVA University of Lisbon (“website“).

  1. Who we are

 The Innovation and Value Creation Division of the Rectory of NOVA University Lisbon (NOVA Impact) is the operational unit for matters related to entrepreneurship, innovation, knowledge transfer, intellectual property management and relations with  external stakeholders, working in a network with the various Organic Units.

NOVA Impact is responsible for the processing, in compliance with the GDPR, of the personal data of the users of the website.

  1. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

 NOVA Impact collects personal data whenever the user fills out the various contact forms available on the website. Your browsing may also be monitored for statistical purposes.

In order to comply with  the  principle of minimization, the categories of personal data that are subject to processing by NOVA Impact for the purposes referred to in this policyare the following:

  • E-mail;
  • IP address;
  • Type of browser used;
  • Domain;
  • Time/timeof access to the site;
  • Viewed content.
  1. Use and Purposes of Personal Data Collected

The processing of the data identified above allows NOVA Impact to:

  • Ensure the technical operation of your website and  the security of your domain and information systems;
  • Improve and personalize the communication and services offered on your website;
  1. Lawfulness of the Processing of Personal Data

The personal data strictly necessary to ensure the pursuit  of NOVA Impact’s legitimate interest  in ensuring the technical functioning of  its website and  the security of its domain and information systems are collected.

The collection of personal data, on the other hand , is based on the consent of the data subject. This consent can be given by manifestation of express, clear and free will, when voluntarily submitting personal data  in the context of filling in the various  forms available on the website.

  1. Retention of Personal Data

NOVA Impact  will keep the user’s personal data  for as long as the user so wishes, which will have always the option to request its deletion at any time. From that moment on, your personal data will be deleted without undue delay.

  1. Transfer of Personal Data

NOVA Impact shares personal data with WPForms, based in the United States of America.  This transfer of data outside the  European Economic Area (“EEA”) is subject to Standard Data Protection Clauses adopted by the Commission, with appropriate safeguards as set out in Article 46 of the GDPR.

  1. Security of Personal Data

NOVA Impact takes all necessary and legally required precautions to ensure the protectionof the information collected from its users through the website. Given that  the website is hosted on the server  of the Rectory of NOVA, all precautions are taken with the support of the Informatics Division.

  1. Rights of Data Subjects

The holder of the personal data may, at any time, exercise his/her rights, namely, the request for additional information regarding the processing of his/her data, the rectification of the same, as well as, within certain limits, the deletion of his/her data, the revocation of the consent given or the opposition to the processing of his/her data, among others, through the address of and-Mail novaimpact@unl.pt  or by letter to the postal address CtheMPUS de Campolide, 1099-085 Lisboa. You can also contact the Data Protection Officer of the NOVA in dpo@unl.pt.

The data subject should be aware that in certain cases (e.g. due to legal requirements) his or her request may not be fulfilled. In any case, the data subject will be informed of the measures taken in this regard within one month from the time the request is made.

The holder of the personal data has, still, the right to lodge a complaint with the National Data Protection Commission inhttps://www.cnpd.pt/.
