It’s official: to build a shared future and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we need to rethink the way we live, work, and play. World Intellectual Property Day 2024 celebrated this Friday, 26 April, provides an opportunity to explore how intellectual property (IP) can foster and strengthen the innovative and creative solutions that are so fundamental to this goal.
The challenges we face are profound and complex – and it is increasingly clear that we must act now and use the tools at our disposal to ensure a sustainable future for all. This is in the knowledge that without an intellectual property system, it will not be possible to guarantee the rights to explore and enjoy trademarks, patents, industrial designs, artistic works, and other creations that both benefit and drive human development.
Established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000, World Intellectual Property Day aims to celebrate the contribution of creators and innovators from around the world to the development of society.
Watch the video as we pay tribute to all the visionaries who turn ideas into reality, highlight some of the incredible inventions from the NOVA ecosystem, and discover how we are making a difference and creating a more sustainable future for all.
