METROVAC – Laboratory for vacuum technology and metrology [NI-SERV-2020-40]

Metrovac is the National Reference Laboratory for Vacuum Metrology in Portugal, operating under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and ensuring traceability to international standards (BIPM, EURAMET).

Service/Expertise Overview

We provide calibration of vacuum gauges down to 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar, including Pirani, capacitance diaphragm (CDG) and ionization gauges.

We also calibrate helium reference leaks with delivery to vacuum, and reference leaks for other gases with delivery to atmosphere.

In addition, Metrovac is accredited for testing refrigerant gas leak detectors.

Beyond our accredited scope, we develop tailored solutions for ultra-low gas-flow measurement, including membrane permeability and leak-tightness testing.

Metrovac also contributes to European R&D programmes (EMPIR, Horizon Europe), advancing vacuum metrology and ultra-low pressure standards.
