NOVA joins online platform in the area of innovation that connects universities to companies
NOVA is the first Portuguese university to join IN-PART, a platform for promoting technology and innovation that currently connects around 230 universities and research institutes from around the world to more than 5500 companies. Through a matchmaking method, the platform seeks to establish a link between the knowledge produced in the academic world and the needs of the market.
The online tool allows universities to expose their research and innovation projects in order to find business partners. In turn, companies and organizations have free access to this information, which is a simplified way to find opportunities for collaboration.
Since its launch in 2014, the online tool has promoted over 6,000 interactions between representatives from the academic and business worlds, of which 75% were between international partners. Among the academic institutions that have already benefited from this platform are the universities of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Vienna, Otago, Osaka, Oxford, Cambridge, and Edinburgh. The companies include Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Pepsico, Unilever, Samsung, Volkswagen, among many others.
To become a Global and Civic University, NOVA is committed to placing its knowledge and research at the service of local, regional and global development. With this vision, the creation of value through the promotion of technology transfer and innovation presents itself as one of the great missions of the institution.
