Throughout his professional career, he has had several passages in various management consulting activities, both in an international and national context. It was, however, in intellectual property and related areas that he found his passion.
With a wide and relevant experience in industrial property having performed the functions of patent and utility model examiner at the Portuguese Patent Office (INPI), where he could witness the moments when inventions were transformed into innovations, as well as participate and assist in the technology transfer processes of the innovation producing institutions, whether they were Higher Education Institutions, companies or even individual inventors.
Knowledge transfer has thus emerged as an area of deep interest for Rui, possessing the necessary skills to advise researchers and other interested parties on matters related to intellectual property and the related matters of inventions.
